



Freedom of Expression
In this project, my focuse is on the challenges that Iranian women face in expressing their thoughts, beliefs, and opinions. Inspired by Michel Foucault’s concept of discourse, which views language as a tool of power, I developed the idea that when freedom of expression is taken away, letters lose their meaning and become mere symbols. I used mannequins to represent silenced women. While mannequins embody beauty and grace, their lack of emotion prevents any real connection. In the same way, when a woman is denied her freedom of expression, she loses her vibrant presence, becoming like a mannequin—physically present but devoid of life and vitality. The sound in this piece is a whisper, where certain words and sentences are intentionally muted, symbolizing voices that go unheard. I am honored that this project, has been recognized:
